Contact Us Today with ZERO Obligation
When you’re ready to schedule an initial autism testing consultation, we’ll listen attentively to your concerns, ask pertinent questions regarding autism symptoms, and work with you to reach a proper diagnosis. Additionally, we’ll verify any applicable insurance benefits and explore appointment options to accommodate your schedule.
Initial Assessment
During your appointment, our clinical team will engage with you and your child in play-based activities within a welcoming environment. We utilize the ADOS-2 for autism assessment, which is the current industry standard for assessing autism symptoms. This comprehensive autism screening typically lasts two to four hours and focuses on identifying patterns related to ASD, communication, and social interaction.

Analysis & Evaluation
Following the initial assessment, our medical specialists meticulously analyze the results, a process that typically takes one to two weeks.
Diagnostic Review
We will then schedule a subsequent appointment to discuss our findings, autism signs, and any diagnoses. You’ll receive a written report along with care recommendations.
At ABA Centers of Connecticut, we prioritize your child’s comfort and well-being, dedicating ample time and support to discuss the results with you thoroughly.

Autism Testing: The Diagnosis Process
Diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder requires a thorough examination of a child’s behavior and developmental history. It also involves the expertise of clinicians trained to identify neurodivergent traits, including those associated with Asperger’s.
Early intervention is essential for children between the ages of 2 and 5 to ensure they have the tools for a successful and independent life. If you’ve noticed developmental delays or autism symptoms, we recommend scheduling a developmental screening.
During the developmental screening, you’ll complete a questionnaire regarding your child’s behavior and history. Additionally, the child may undergo a short test, if applicable. These evaluations help identify deficits or patterns in development, including behavior, thinking, movement, language, and emotions.
If you suspect your child may have autism, we can assist you with autism testing and diagnosis utilizing various methods, including:
- The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)
- The Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised test
- The Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition
- RAADS-R (Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale-Revised)
- Additional assessments involving problem-solving, motor skills, hearing, language mastery, and vision to clarify an autism diagnosis (if needed)
